Welcome to the 2026 Factorial Intramural championship!
We are excited to kick off the very first Open workout on February 27th…
…but the real fun starts Tue, Feb 24th with the start of the Intramural Championship!
In this page, you’ll find everything you need to know about this year’s Intramural Championship.
Please take the time to read through it so you’re in the know.
Intramural Championship? Tell me more!
The Intramural Championship runs alongside the global CrossFit Open each year. It’s our three-week season of friendly rivalry, team chaos, strategic throwdowns, and lots of team color.
Every athlete who signs up will be drafted onto one of three teams. From there, it’s game on. Points are earned week over week, and one team will emerge victorious.
Will it get competitive? Yes.
Will it get slightly ridiculous? Also yes.
Will you have fun? Almost aggressively so.
And here’s the best part: You do NOT have to “win” workouts to help your team.
Sure, there are some occasional points for performance, but there are even more points for: showing up, wearing your colors, getting loud, supporting your teammates, and giving your best effort.
This is about participation, pride, and pushing yourself in an environment that feels electric.
🏅 The Prize?
Glory.
Eternal. Undeniable. Gym-legend-level glory.
The winning team will retain bragging rights for all of 2026 and have their names immortalized on a championship banner hung in the gym
History will remember you.
🙌 How to Participate
The Intramural Championship is open to everyone - whether or not you register for the global CrossFit Open.
Cost to participate: $20
However… If you register for the global CrossFit Open, your Intramural Championship entry is FREE.
🔥 2026 Event Schedule
We’re shaking things up this year: Instead of three Friday Night Lights, we’re creating more intentional moments throughout the season so more people can get in on the action.
🎉 Friday Night Lights
Friday, February 27
Our official Friday Night Lights event of the season.
Big energy. Team gauntlet challenges. Music up. Lights on. Chaos controlled (barely).
If you love the Friday Night Lights vibe — this is your night.
⚔️ Thursday Throwdown (First-Ever!)
Thursday, March 5
This is something new. We’ll have select athletes go head-to-head in a live showcase of that week’s Open workout.
Why? Because this is your chance to:
Watch strategy unfold
See pacing in real time
Cheer like maniacs
Complete the weekly gauntlet challenge with your team
Soak in the energy
WITHOUT it being the day you do the workout.
Then you’ll tackle the workout yourself on Friday in class with a game plan in hand.
It’s community night, strategy night, “we came to spectate but now we’re fired up” night.
🔁 Last-Chance Redo + Championship Celebration
Sunday, March 15
One final shot. This is your opportunity to:
Redo that week’s workout
OR go back and attack a previous week’s workout
Think you can pace it better? Break differently? Commit harder? This is your chance to test your mettle.
We’ll throw down together, cheer each other on, and then celebrate all your achievements afterward.
Expect:
A great WOD
The final team gauntlet challenge
Food, Drink, Celebration
Possibly dramatic speeches

➕ Other Points Possible

Stand out individuals who embody the spirit of the IMC will be voted on by a comprehensive, biased panel of coaches. This may or may not be awarded each week.
Bonuses for major PRs - 2 points
Did you get a PR in a workout? Get your first double under or muscle up? Demolish your old score in a repeat workout? Make sure you let your team captains and Coach Amanda know. Points will be awarded at the discretion of the commissioner.
Surprise challenges - Points TBD
Other challenges may randomly pop up during the Open. Keep your eyes peeled and get ready to earn those points for your team!
Discretionary bonuses - Points TBD
The commissioner reserves the right to award points at any moment for any reason, much like the Hogwarts House Cup. Let’s see how magical you can get!
Points Submission
Every Tuesday:
Tally your weekly individual points (max 22)
Enter them into the Intramural Championship Challenge in PushPress
Submit by NOON on Tuesday
This allows team totals to go out quickly. Please do not make us chase you down.
⚠️ Remember! If you are registered for the global CF Open, your score submission is separate from the Intramural Championship! ⚠️
Submit your official, judged workout score to games.crossfit.com after completing the workout. This MUST be done by Monday at 7 PM (CST) each week or the portal will close and you will not be able to enter your score on the global leaderboard.
We’ll remind you about all of this as we get closer, but it wouldn’t hurt to put reminders on your calendar now!
